The time is drawing near! I feel like a man with no home. It has been very stressful this summer with the uncertainty whether I would get the job and then the push to get things wrapped up. Now - I have no dog, I have no house (we signed papers with a relator Sunday), I have no office (the vultures are circling outside my office), I have no church, I have no shotgun (I gave it to the Primary Firearms Instructor today, it has been with me since my flying days), I have no one at home to talk to and I have no cases! I have thrown away a lot of stuff that I have held onto for many years. I wonder if this is what it feels like to retire?
A new chapter begins Friday. I will leave Houston and then on 9/4/07 I will become a Supervisory Special Agent. I have resisted that title for 17 1/2 years! I hope I will have fun and will be able to contribute ... all I ever wanted to be was a Special Agent, pure and simple. To think I could compete on the national level is a bit scary and intimidating to me.

You'll do great! It's going to be hard, but it's going to be such a neat experience at the same time. This is a once in a lifetime chance! It's like you are going away to college again. And just think when you get back you'll have how long before you can retire?!?!?! It doesn't kinda' stink about the house. It's the house "we've" lived in the longest. I say "we've" because that technically doesn't apply to me, but it's still "home." Anyway - Snickers is good. Jayden's loving it and she's being really sweet to him. She did wake up at about 5am and start licking her butt though. So I took her out and she went back to sleep thankfully. I did not sleep well at all! I think it may have been the Clairitan D that I took before I went to bed. Oh well.
Good luck to you! We'll miss you...stay safe, too! Wow...Special Agent...that's very intimidating!!
keith,
I'm glad you came by today and said I could read your xangas I learned a lot just reading the few days I saw posted and the pictures of your Pam at her Mother's grave was so good.
It will take awhile to get use to a new place and learn new responsibilities but I know you can do it. Just hope you are able to locate a Church you like. I'm sorry you have been having a few problems in your mind about our congregation. We are all just people.
Went to a fish fry with our life group tonight at Rufus and Ella's and it was very good. Ella knows how to fry good fish. We have such a great life group and we chose to meet all summer and have been doing some serious study. On September 12 we plan to start a study of Revelation. That should be very interesting. I am alone so much but I have found that if I study (I mean really study) the Bible I get real joy from that. We just got through studying the book of Ephesians, that is a book that tells us exactly how to live our lives. Thanks for me getting to read your blogs.
Naomi
